Memories of Markfield and Crowland School

Hi I used to live in Craven Park Road. I remember many of the things mentioned in previous posts. It was interesting reading all the posts some of which brought back fond memories. I attended Markfield Road School up until 1961 and Crowland Road previously. I moved to Edmonton at 1961. I too used to visit Springfield Park. I used to play on the barges and have a very strong memory of the Abattoir where I used to hear the pigs squealing as they were being butchered. I have actually tried to track down some old school friends on Friend United with little luck.

I am a rider with 20 years of experience who is searching for a horse share in London. I will be able to commit to 1 day during the week and 1 day at the weekend and will be able to contribute financially. As a teacher I also get holidays off so will be able to commit to more time during these breaks. I have evented at a novice level and have been a member of pony clubs and riding clubs until the age of 20 so will be able to bring alot of skill and knowledge to the partnership! As kids we used to go over to the button factory which was abandoned at that time. i remember one the the twin teenager boys that lived in the flats fell through the roof and broke his leg and we had to carry him back home.
